Guido and Anna Nicoletti started growing apples in Pozieres, 20 minutes north of Stanthorpe, in the 1950s. Three generations later, the farm is now run by Daniel Nicoletti and his wife Toni. Nicoletti Orchards open their farm gates for seasonal guided tours, tastings in the apple orchid and cherry picking. Check their Facebook page for the latest details. Pozieres is a 2-hour 30-minute drive from Brisbane via Cunningham’s Gap and Warwick. It is on one of Stanthorpe’s principal tourist routes, the Armistice Way, which takes drivers along Amiens Road through the tiny hamlets and old railway sidings of Amiens, Messines, Bapaume, Passchendaele, Bullecourt, Pozieres and Fleurbaix.
