Australia’s highest cheese shop, Stanthorpe Cheese, is 925 metres above sea level on the Granite Belt. New owners Julie and Wayne Hope use locally sourced milk and hand-make their cheese range onsite. The tasting room offers a daily selection of cheeses at peak perfection for sampling before selection. There’s also a range of local produce, including chutneys and relishes, vinegar, juices, cheese pastes, fruits and wines. You can enjoy a range of food, including an amazing ploughman’s platter, at their onsite Jersey Girls Cafe. Stanthorpe cheese is located at Thulimbah, in the Granite Belt highlands, 10 minutes north of Stanthorpe.
Guru Tip
The cheesecake and creamy Jersey milkshakes at Jersey Girls Café are must-tries.
