Ask Tim and Michelle Coelli at Twisted Gum Wines, and they will tell you about their environmentally sustainable practices, including using mulch (no insecticides), legumes and sheep for healthy soil. Twisted Gum won Premier’s Sustainability Award for their efforts. This boutique winery located just out of Ballandean is worked by a husband-and-wife team who do all the hand pruning and harvesting. Vineyard tours are available, and the winery is open on weekends or by appointment. Extend your visit with a short break stays in their three-bedroom cottage.
